Rain? Naturally, I’m Reading.

I love opening up the patio door and listening to the thunder crackle and watching the lighting cascade across the sky as I turn the pages, the breeze billowing out the curtains.  Normally, a Spring or Summer rainstorm is my favorite backdrop for a great book, but in this case it was beyond perfect.

The book in hand last night (and Monday night) was Nights in Rodanthe, by Nicholas Sparks. And not to spoil a lovely story, but the main events take place during a hurricane hitting Hatteras Island, where Rodanthe is located. Not that the storm last night had nearly the force or intensity of a hurricane, but it did help to create the perfect setting for cozy reading. I’ve got 49 pages left– my fingers are crossed in hopes of another storm passing through this evening.
