Arlington National Cemetery

My aunt and I went to Arlington National Cemetery for a funeral and to pay our respects to our nation’s fallen soldiers for a few hours on Thursday. The weather was absolutely gorgeous and the sky a brilliant blue and peacefully clear. The day was perfectly fitting for honoring the countless men and women that have served our country.

The air was so clear I was able to capture a crisp shot of the Washington Monument and Capitol dome from inside the hallowed grounds.

The older parts of the cemetery are quite diverse and contain many unique headstones.

A Tomb Guard Sentinel honorably guards the Tomb of Unknown Soldiers. The Tomb of Unknown Soldiers is guarded year-round 24 hours a day.
